Stealth
By Lawrence O. Anderson
Not knowing that the "Cold War" was nearing its end, an ambitious Soviet
assistant secretary plans to build a small aircraft, not detectable by radar, to
use against the United States. Unable to find some of the rare materials to make
the craft, he decides to build it secretly where it is to be used, in the U.S.A.
Fiana, a Soviet agent, is assigned the job of setting up a company based in
Florida. Her contractors unwittingly design the advanced navigation system and
airframe for the spy craft. Fiana also steals systems perfected by a California
company to power the lethal aircraft.
She is building a craft which can hover like a helicopter and fly faster than
most propeller driven planes. If all goes as planned the craft can fill up at a
gas station, if necessary, look like a UFO at night, and be invisible to radar.
Craig, a bright repairman whose many interests include computers and airplanes,
stumbles upon the plans for the craft, called the Fanflyer. Fiana has contracted
his employer, Delta Systems of Virginia, to write the software for its flight
simulator. Craig happens upon the flight simulator and masters it, just for fun.
Coincidence brings Craig and Fiana into a deadly competition. Craig operates out
of curiosity and goodness of heart. Fiana's violent temper and determination
threaten the lives of many people, both Soviet and U.S.
